My Role
As the sole brand designer for HZ Capital Group, I led the creation of a refined brand identity that reflected the company’s position as a trusted connector between investors and curated startup ecosystems.
I was responsible for developing the full visual system including a bespoke “HZ” monogram, elegant typography pairings, a sophisticated color palette, and a signature brand motif. I also designed core applications such as the name card and presentation folder. From strategic positioning to visual execution, I crafted an identity that communicated integrity, exclusivity, and long-term partnership.

I partnered with HZ Capital to create a brand identity that speaks to its values of professionalism, integrity, and innovation while resonating with a sophisticated investor class across Southeast Asia.
The Challenge
Brand an Ecosystem curator in
a Trust-Driven Market
HZ Capital required a brand identity that could articulate its unique dual role as both a curator and connector in Southeast Asia’s rapidly growing digital startup ecosystem. The goal was to build a brand that would evoke trust and credibility among high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors, while also signaling agility and innovation. This meant striking a careful balance,honoring traditional financial sector expectations of stability and professionalism, while embracing a sleek, forward-thinking design language. The brand also had to be flexible and cohesive across all touchpoints, from digital interfaces to printed materials and high-level investor communications.
I began by identifying the core essence of HZ Capital’s value proposition: connecting investors to carefully curated startup ecosystems in a way that is both sophisticated and streamlined. This offering is fundamentally built on trust, something we recognized as essential to express clearly across the brand.
From this foundation, I shaped a brand essence centered on three key pillars: trust and quality as uncompromising standards, unity and synergy as the brand’s unique value, and elegance and discipline as the guiding design ethos. With this clarity, I translated HZ Capital’s abstract investment principles into a coherent and compelling visual and verbal identity.

At the core of HZ Capital’s visual identity is a refined monogram—a stylized “HZ” that intertwines to represent partnership, synergy, and integrity. This is supported by a sophisticated typographic system, pairing Didot for headers to evoke timeless elegance and exclusivity, with Avenir Next for body text to ensure clarity and modern readability. The brand’s color palette features a deep navy blue to convey trust and authority, complemented by light grey accents for a clean and balanced aesthetic. Enhancing the identity further, the monogram is used as a subtle, repeating pattern across brand materials, reinforcing a sense of unity, rhythm, and visual consistency.
